Graphic Escape (GE) Font Example
|
  |

Items to Note:
-
Vista includes a full set of GE (graphic escape) characters, which can be used by applications that support them, such as SAS above. These characters allow applications to better display items such as the scroll bars and window frames in the example above.
-
With Vista, the default left-mouse double-click function is "MoveCursorEnter", which moves the cursor and presses Enter in a single action. This function, along with GE fonts, allows applications like the one above to effectively simulate many PC Windows-style functions on the mainframe. Also, try double-clicking on an ISPF menu bar, and you might find the menu bar is actually worth its screen space.
